How to keep the kids occupied these school holidays

Summer is officially here and Christmas is fast approaching, which can only mean one thing… school holidays are almost here! Amongst the madness of organising the holiday season, working and catching up with family and friends, it can be hard to keep the kids entertained. So to avoid the dreaded “I’m bored!” we’ve created the ultimate itinerary to keep the kids busy all summer long!

Surf’s Up!

There is nothing better than hitting the beach in the Aussie summer. Grab the kids and get your boards to your closest beach. Boogie boarding is fun for all ages (adults included) and is a great way to make the most of your time by the water. Whether you have a little one just warming to the waves or a teenager who is an absolute pro, boogie boarding is the ultimate summer activity!

Life under the Sea

Australia has some of the best beaches, reefs and oceans in the world, why not explore them? Snorkelling is not only a great way to get the kids out and about but also a great learning activity about underwater marine life. Introduce them to the magical world of colour, creatures and coral and let them explore a side of the ocean they’ve never seen before.

Batter Up

Let’s be honest, is there really anything better than an old fashion backyard competition? Gather up your friends, family and the neighbours and hold the ultimate backyard, beach or bush baseball competition.

Need for speed?

This one is for the thrill seekers! If your kids have the need for speed and want to skid across the ocean, then a ski tube will do that and more. The ergonomic shape is designed for maximum speed and will have the kids screaming with glee all afternoon. So head down to your closest dam, river or beach and pop it on the back of your boat or Jet Ski – you’re in for a wild ride!

Explore by Boat

One of the best parts of being a kid is using your imagination and exploring the surrounds. Give your little adventurers an inflatable rowboat and a map of the vicinity with spots to check out upstream. This will keep older kids heading into their tweens busy and feel like Indiana Jones at the same time!

Beach Ball’in

The perfect addition to any beach day out is a game of soccer! Whether it’s boys against girls or kids versus the oldies, the stakes are always high (bragging rights, of course!). The best part is all you need is a soccer ball and a set of trees or sticks for goals. If your field is beachside, we recommend a neoprene coverage ball that’s good to go in waves, lakes and dams!
