Pet-Friendly Campsites in Queensland

Camping is the perfect experience to bring the whole family together, away from all the distractions of the suburbs and the city. For many families though, one very important member often gets left behind. Fear not! There are plenty of campgrounds in Queensland where your four-legged family members are welcome.

Tamborine Mountain Caravan Park, Tamborine Mountain

Situated amongst lush valleys and scattered with spring-fed creeks, Tamborine Mountain Caravan Park is one of the most scenic spots in Queensland. In addition to its large campsites and vast bushland, the park is pet friendly. On the condition that your furry friend remains on a leash at all times, you are free to explore the swimming holes and adjoining properties that offer high-rope courses, horse riding and laser skirmish.

Neurum Creek Bush Retreat, Neurum

Less than 75 minutes from the city lies an oasis for campers with a penchant for outdoor activities. You and your pooch can enjoy a range of walking tracks and swimming holes by day and curl up fire-side by night. The facilities at Neurum Creek are serviced and cleaned by staff, so while you get the full bush camping experience, you are still treated to a little bit of luxury. Don’t forget the bikes, runners and kayaks as there is no shortage of things to do here with man’s best friend.

Mudjimba Beach Holiday Park, Sunshine Coast

You’ll be spoilt for choice at the Mudjimba Holiday Park, known as the hub of this sleepy seaside town. With a premium and central location, you’re within walking distance to a range of food options and activities as well as the covert beach. Not only is the park pet-friendly but Mudjimba Beach itself is a haven for dogs who can frolic on the sand off-leash. Have your pick of powered and unpowered sites, relax by the pool after a day at the beach and light up one of the many BBQ’s at dinner to make the most of your time away.

Gordon Country Campgrounds, Goomburra

The Gordon Country way is where luxury meets nature, and the spectacular mountain scenery is what makes this a great Queensland escape. Standing apart from all other pet-friendly campgrounds, your furry friend has free reign over the waterfalls and rainforests here as dogs are allowed off-leash during the day. The large private property means you don’t need to worry about neighbours - other than the cattle that freely roam day and night!

Minjerribah Camping, North Stradbroke Island

Minjerribah is the ultimate beachfront camping experience at this iconic location on North Straddie. Dogs are welcome on the beachside campgrounds plus at Flinders and Main, but do note that it is 4WD access only. Boasting prime ocean views for both people and pets to enjoy, two off-leash exercise areas are available on the Island too.
