How to convert a non-camper

When it comes to holidaying there is a clear divide between campers and non-campers. Some may need a little persuasion to experience the joys of camping in the great outdoors. To help you introduce camping to the camping adverse, we have created a few top tips that will have them wanting more and more. You can thank us later.

It’s the little things

While we know packing light is crucial when it comes to camping, try spice it up with some personal touches (we promise, they won’t go unnoticed). Pack some comfy cushions for an outdoor picnic, pack a candle or two, have a campfire, take a blanket for some night time star gazing and a hammock to swing around in during the day. Ease into it

The idea of the big, wild wilderness may not be appealing to everyone. So on their first camping trip, don’t throw your newest camping recruit in the deep end without any floaties i.e. a remote island in the middle of nowhere. Ease into it by ensuring you have a powered site with easy access to bathroom facilities. Once you add a tent, the opportunity to sleep under the stars, a fully functioning toilet and somewhere to charge a phone – it becomes a good compromise.

Pack their favourite food

Camp food doesn’t have to be bland and boring. This is one of the best times to enjoy your favourite foods… you’re on holiday remember! What’s better than gathering around a campfire, roasting marshmallows or cooking up a campsite breakfast in the morning? There are so many handy tools around that make campfire cooking as easy as can be! Whether it’s making your own bread, sizzling some sausages or whipping up some sweet treats. When & Where

Location, location, location. One of the best advantages of camping is the places you can explore. There are only a few spots in the world where you can open your door and be metres away from the shoreline. Camping gives you the opportunity to experience new amazing things that you would never be able to see in the city or in a hotel. So pick somewhere they’ll love! But remember to always research, consider the weather conditions and plan ahead.

Remember to have some fun

The best part about camping is the amount of adventures and fun experiences at your fingertips! Many destinations are decorated with a number of hiking tracks, waterfalls, reefs or attractions that can make great day trips. Remember to also pack downtime activities, such as books, cards and board games. At the end of the day, camping is a great opportunity to spend some quality time with the family and have fun!

Good luck campers, we hope you love it as much as we do!
